Applying Silicone Glue on Industrial Components: A Closer Look at the Cosmostar AX0115 in Action

Project: Silicone Glue Application, Shin Yang Trading, Taiwan
Silicone glue is not a typical coating material. Its high viscosity and adhesive properties make it difficult to apply consistently using standard spray equipment. For manufacturers that apply silicone glue across large volumes of industrial components, the method of application directly affects how evenly the material covers the surface, and how efficiently the process runs from one batch to the next.
For Shin Yang Trading, a trading company in Taiwan working with industrial components, finding the right equipment for silicone glue application was a practical production requirement. This is a look at how the Cosmostar AX0115 addressed that need.
The Challenge: High-Viscosity Adhesive Materials Demand More Than Standard Spray Equipment Can Deliver

Silicone glue, by nature, resists flow. At rest, it stays put. Under application conditions, it needs to be pushed through a spray system at enough pressure to atomize properly and reach the surface in a controlled, even pattern.
Standard sprayers designed for thin coatings are not suited for this. Insufficient pressure results in uneven material distribution, clogging at the spray tip, and inconsistent coverage across components. For a production environment handling multiple parts in sequence, these issues add up quickly in both time and material waste.
Beyond the spray system itself, the material preparation stage also plays a role. Silicone glue that has not been thoroughly mixed before entering the system will have inconsistent viscosity across the batch. That inconsistency carries through the entire application process, affecting how the material behaves under pressure and how evenly it reaches and adheres to the component surface.
Taken together, these factors mean that applying silicone glue in a production setting requires equipment that can sustain high-pressure output consistently, without clogging or pressure fluctuations that interrupt the workflow.
Cosmostar AX0115 Atlas 65:1 Pneumatic Airless Sprayer

The Cosmostar AX0115 Atlas 65:1 Pneumatic Airless Sprayer was selected for this application based on its pressure capability and suitability for high-viscosity materials.
The AX0115 operates at a 65:1 pressure ratio, reaching up to 6,500 PSI of fluid working pressure. This level of pressure allows it to move high-viscosity materials like silicone glue through the system and atomize them at the spray tip without clogging or pressure drops mid-application. The 10-inch air motor delivers a maximum flow rate of 3.1 GPM, providing sufficient output for production-scale application across multiple components in sequence.
AX0115 series design prioritizes ease of maintenance. The pump module is designed for straightforward assembly and disassembly, which makes it practical to service in a production environment where equipment downtime needs to be kept to a minimum. The rugged build of the 10-inch air motor is suited for continuous operation in demanding industrial conditions.
The system's pneumatic operation means it can be run wherever compressed air is available, without needing a dedicated electrical connection at the point of use. This gives operators flexibility in how and where the system is positioned on the production floor.
What the Application Looked Like at the Facility

At the Shin Yang Trading facility, industrial components were arranged and staged in the production area, ready for silicone glue application. The material was prepared and mixed before being fed into the AX0115 system. From there, the sprayer delivered the silicone glue through the fluid line to the spray gun, where it was atomized and applied to the component surfaces in controlled passes.
The high-pressure output of the AX0115 allowed the material to reach the surfaces consistently, covering each component in sequence without the pressure fluctuations that would otherwise affect the uniformity of the application. The result was a production run where the silicone glue was applied evenly across the component batch, with the workflow moving at a pace suited to the volume of parts being processed.
The compact, mobile design of the AX0115 cart allowed it to be positioned close to the work area, keeping the fluid line short and reducing pressure loss between the pump and the spray gun.
